Incumbent Worker Training Programs

Summary
Incumbent Worker Training (IWT) programs, authorized by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), are a type of training service given to currently employed workers. IWT is designed to increase the competitiveness of both businesses and incumbent workers by ensuring workers acquire the skills necessary to retain employment and advance within the business.
